is a laidback, largely unemotional stand up comedian, independent artist & eminent latino from Lorain, OH. Ramon resonates a low-fi swag with the finest taste in jokes, juices & dope experiences one can have while immaculately navigating in, out & around financial & emotional poverty as an ambiguously brown man in America.

Initially making a name for himself by building up the Cleveland comedy scene through ACCIDENTAL COMEDY productions while traveling around the country to cities he couldn't afford to live in like Chicago, New York, Los Angeles & more, Ramon eventually started garnering respect around the country for his comedic chops & sandwich acumen, being recognized by COMEDY CENTRAL as a COMIC TO WATCH in 2015 and by most bodega bois across the country.

Rivas made his television debut in 2016, when he was one of 17 artists selected to record THE HALF HOUR with COMEDY CENTRAL. An outlier from the middle of the country, living with divorced parents without a manager or an agent getting that sort of opportunity gave the streets hope. He flew his parents, sister and her 3 kids down to New Orleans for the taping. it was the first time the kids had ever been on a plane. The lead up to recording the special was captured in a 10 part GENTLE HUSTLE docs-series.

Ramon’s stand up was also featured on season 2 of THE GUEST LIST on NBC Seeso (RIP) and his episode of HBO's ENTRE NOS THE SERIES is available for streaming on HBO On Demand, HBOGo & HBONow.

Rivas also has a burgeoning career sounding like he just woke up from a nap on TV shows, with appearances as a contestant on @MIDNIGHT twice, as a cannabis shaman on numerous segments on VICELAND & began acting seriously on S4E3 of BROAD CITY and followed that up with an appearance on S2E7 of HBO's CRASHING.

Ramon has been a guest on numerous podcasts like:

  • Just For Laughs Chicago (2012)

  • San Francisco SketchFest (2014, 2017, 2018)

  • Chicago Comedy Exposition (2014)

  • Just For Laughs Montreal (2017)

  • SXSW (2018)

  • Edinburgh Fringe Fest (2018)

Before any of those, he founded his own festival, ACCIDENTAL COMEDY FEST in 2011. The festival has grown to be one of the countries best kept secrets, and has started to garner industry attendees & draw visitors to Cleveland from other states. The fest has taken up residence at HILARIITES 4th STREET THEATER and continues to develop into one of the countries premiere comedic events every Labor Day weekend.

As the founder of the Accidental Comedy Fest (Est 2011) and curator of Accidental Comedy Club (Est. 2014), Ramon brought indie, DIY comedy shows to a new generation of Cleveland artists & audiences by producing open mics, showcases, and an annual comedy festival featuring emerging local & regional talent paired with top, national headlining acts like Hannibal Buress, Kyle Kinane, and The Lucas Brothers at some of the best venues the greater Cleveland area has to offer. That work is continued by the current members of Accidental Comedy John Bruton, Jimmie Graham, Mary Santora, Josh Morrow & Cody Cooper. His work and the overall growth of the Cleveland scene was featured in the documentary film MAKE FUN (2013) available now to stream on AMAZON PRIME.

ACCIDENTAL was named BEST COMEDY VENUE by Cleveland Scene Magazine in 2016, even though the group has no physical home. So they had to add (SERIES) in parenthesis. It's some real pied-piper shit, which is dope.

ACCIDENTAL COMEDY functions year round, helmed by the next generation of Cleveland's comedic ambassadors.  You can catch Ramon touring the country or highly chatting with people in these streets or highly eating snacks on COOKING ON HIGH on Netflix.
